At the recent Ede Light Up Crusade, Daddy G.O., Pastor E.A. Adeboye, ministered powerfully to a massive gathering with a message titled “Arise and Shine, for Your Light Has Come,” drawn from Isaiah 60:1-3.
He took time to unpack the scripture verse by verse, showing how God’s command to “arise” is not a suggestion but a divine instruction for every believer in seasons of darkness, stagnation, or challenge. He explained that the glory of the Lord rising upon His people brings supernatural illumination, favor, and influence that causes even nations and kings to be drawn to that light.
Throughout the sermon, he shared practical illustrations and real-life testimonies, emphasizing that when God’s glory comes, obscurity ends, limitations break, and destiny is activated. He encouraged the congregation to move from merely existing to shining brightly in every area of life—spiritually, academically, professionally, and socially.
One of the highlights was when he opened up about the naming of **Redeemer’s University** in Ede. He recounted how, during a time of prayer and seeking God’s direction for the institution, the Lord clearly instructed him to name it “Redeemer’s University.” He shared the divine inspiration behind the name and how it reflects the redemptive purpose of the school—to raise a generation that will redeem their time, society, and nation for God’s glory.
As he rounded off the message, Pastor Adeboye extended a heartfelt altar call, inviting everyone who desired to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ to step forward. Many responded, and he led them in a prayer of salvation, declaring them born again and welcomed into God’s family.
He also prayed earnestly for all the students present, for the continued growth and impact of Redeemer’s University, and for the entire city of Ede—that God’s light would shine brighter, souls would be saved, lives transformed, and the community blessed abundantly.
